City Council June 13, 2024
This week’s Council Meeting is all about the Benjamins. We’re talking budget. Council unanimously passed Mayor Cherelle Parker’s historic 6.37 billion dollar “One Philly Budget,” which green-lights important decisions and initiatives.
Council passed a number of Bills and Resolutions before retiring for the summer season. Here are your takeaways.

Communication From the Mayor
Resolution re-appointing of Reverend Bonnie Carmarda as a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Philadelphia Housing Authority.
Resolution appointing Aaron Dwyer as a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Philadelphia Housing Authority.

Resolution Approving the creation of a not-for-profit task force to review the city’s contract and procurement practices with nonprofits and propose recommendations for improved business practices.

Resolutions Approving the re-appointment of Reverend Bonnie Carmarda, Herbert Wetzel, Lynette Brown-Sow, Ismail A. Shahid, Asia Coney, and Ethel Wise, respectively as members of the Board of Commissioners of the Philadelphia Housing Authority.

Resolution Approving the appointment of Sandra Dungy-Glenn, Aaron Dwyer, and Darrell Clarke respectively as members of the Board of Commissioners of the Philadelphia Housing Authority.

Bill Number 240242 Ordinance amending 14-500 of the Philadelphia Code Entitled “Overlay Zoning Districts” by amending Section 14-524, Entitled “FDO, Fourth District Overlay District,” to establish use regulations on medical facilities, all under certain terms and conditions.

Resolution Number 240168 Appointing Madison McCarron to the Board of Directors of the City Avenue Special Services District of Philadelphia and Lower Merion.
