City Council holds Hearings on Septa Violence

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Calling for the hearings back in October, Councilmember David Oh referenced a February 2021 shooting outside the Olney Transportation Center that wounded 8-people and the recent rape aboard the Market Frankford Line–in which an unidentified woman was assaulted while the train was in service. Pushing back on complaints about safety issues throughout the transportation system, SEPTA officials outlined efforts they are making to combat violent incidents in their facilities, but employee unions sharply disagreed.
