The residents were treated to an epic Christmas feast on Wednesday, December 7th, at the Wilson Center, located at 1150 Engle Street, Chester Township, Pa. Hosted by Councilwoman Candice Newsome, the luncheon was open to all residents of the Township.
This wasn’t your typical rubber chicken, instant mashed potatoes, or canned vegetable meal. Every morsel was cooked from scratch and seasoned to perfection. The master chefs at Café Grace Catering Kings of Soul Food,” prepared and served the menu of roast beef, beef ribs, parmesan meatballs, pork ribs, fried pork chops, honey ham, fried chicken, barbecue chicken, baked chicken, roast turkey with stuffing and gravy, potato salad, sweet potatoes, cabbage, collard greens, yellow rice with gravy, fried fish and seafood salad.
From 11 am until 2 pm, over 125 seniors of Chester Township and other residents enjoyed the cuisine and fellowship during Wednesday’s celebration. Elderly and disabled residents who were homebound or unable to have someone pick up their meals were given the option of home delivery.
Russell Little of A Little Productions Photography was on hand to take photos of attendees and document the celebration.
Chester Township greeted residents and mingled bestowing wishes of holiday cheer.
Each meal was accompanied by a positive, heartfelt, Season’s Greeting from the Township reading:
