The Chester Fire Department hosted CPR Training in the Community Room at Chester City Hall on Tuesday, February 18th. CPR has been invaluable and instrumental in helping to save many lives…keeping people stable until first responders arrive.Â
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, commonly known as CPR, came about in 1960 when Drs. Kouwhenhoven, Safar, and Jude combined mouth-to-mouth breathing with chest compressions to create the lifesaving actions we now refer to as CPR.
Fire Prevention Officer Kevin Postlewaite led the group in doing compressions, mouth-to-mouth breathing, the proper use of automated external defibrillators, the proper use of portable mouth-to-mouth guards, and infant CPR.
