Candytopia: A candy wonderland

Reading Time: 2 minutes

If you have a sweet tooth, here’s something that will grab your attention. If you always wanted to nibble on a candy land or explore a sanctuary of complete bliss and be transported to an imaginative wonderland with a one-of-a-kind full sensory experience, you will find that and more at Candytopia in downtown Philly at 903 Market St. It’s candy heaven.
This interactive art tasty exhibit celebrates the vibrant colors and flavors of your favorite sugarcoated delights sculpture into 3-dimensional characters, photos, animals, and objects that you explore from room to room.
Don’t be surprised to find celebrity reproductions, flying unicorns, dragons, and a marshmallow tsunami. Upon exiting each room, guests are able to take candy home.
“It was the best surprise EVER,” said Basille Carter, who was taken to this smorgasbord of candy as an early birthday present. Basille will be five this month and is not allowed to eat candy, so the trip to Candytopia was a real treat, according to his grandmother (my sister) Norma. “From chocolate, lollipops and taffies –to– licorice, pop rocks, and pixie stix, there was plenty of candy for all to take. We felt like we had been trick or treating,” she laughed.
“It was a fun morning-took, and it about 90 minutes to enjoy the whole exhibit. The staff were fantastic-lots of smiles and energy,” said another parent.
“I recently moved to the Bahamas, so I’m away from my godchildren in DC. Well, on a visit to DC, I decided to take another trip to Philly to surprise my little ladies with Candytopia. They had a BLAST!!! Reaching the end, the oldest looked at me and said, “we’re living our best lives”. Thank you for an amazing experience and Candyyyyy!!!!,” said a family who found that candy lands do exist.

You might have heard the powerful voice of Jennifer Hudson’s new single released this past weekend to promote the summer anticipated release of Aretha Franklin’s biopic, “Respect”.
Since last Friday, people have been talking about Academy Award-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning recording artist Hudson’s song entitled “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)”—co-written with 4-time Grammy Award winner, Hall of Famer Carole King (marking their first collaboration) and Jamie Hartman. Grammy Award-winning Black Eyed Peas co-founder and mega-producer will.i.am produced the track.
“Respect* will open in theatres nationwide on August 13.
Hudson will be releasing new music soon. This is just one of many to come.
Epic Records Chairwoman and CEO Sylvia Rhone said, “What Jennifer, Carole, and Jamie have created together is nothing short of historic. It celebrates the legacy of Aretha Franklin by channeling her spirit and style in an original, no less. As soon as I heard it, I was speechless. It has all the elements of a future American songbook staple.”
Well, that’s the Philly Beat!!!
