As our struggle for liberation continues. There is not a single day that I don’t think about our African Warrior Queen Assata Olugbala Shakur. Assata is a giant within our international midst that continues to exemplify Black womanhood and unconditional love for her people. Today, she remains a bright flaming guidepost and a powerful beacon for Africans to follow all over the world.
Today, our young Black sisters are continuously confronted with challenges and choices that will affect their lives and the lives of their families. American culture has monopolized the socialization process of becoming a natural leader and has derailed our traditional norms, values, and ways of life. Many of our sisters who now raise Black children have been unable to reach their full potential due to the illusions of success and deliberate distractions of irrelevant social media and the racist mediums of television, radio, and print media.
