What’s Up Everybody? How’s Life in our City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection? That’s Right, I’m going to always see my city in this light because this is what I believe and will work for. Heavenly Father, I’m leaning on you because the devil, I cannot win over without you and the Trinity.
Blessings, my friends and family of SCOOP USA MEDIA! May we continue to be together in one accord, in One Unity! Our significance. Our being depends greatly upon the magnitude, the belief in knowing who we are and what we need to get where we must be! The uniqueness of our understanding is predicated on the beauty of sharing our ideals, thoughts, engagement, and interaction with each other. It must be embedded in the circle of “LOVE” from our traditions and our legacies brought forth through our ancestral connections and beginnings.
And I say this with pure “Eyes On The Prize,” nothing and I mean nothing, no violence, no barbarism (Love Ya Barbara Smith for your affectionate and effective structural penetration into “My Heart, My Mind, My Soul,” no political chicanery, no delusional enticements, no demons, not even the devil himself will keep Us from Our Supreme Destiny! Marching on, Moving forward!
My Family, what a moment to walk into with our children, our youth, our people, our world!!! The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts Youth Ensemble is standing tall, being bold, and bringing light to our destiny walk! Yes, my brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen, hear my cry, know our battles, and “LOVE” the making of here, I Am, and I mean it! Yes, yes, and yes again. Our young folks came to play, and played is what they did! These young brothers and their mentor gave us an instrumental cuisine, a stimulating, delightful, full-course meal, and everyone eft fabulous fat! Freedom Now, that’s what the people ate, and I can assure you there was nothing left on the plate, and everyone, I mean everyone was full!
Lovett Hines and Carla Hines will continue to inspire and develop young people with their new initiative focusing on emerging artists. The performance held in the Center for Anti-Racism, Mazur Hall, Temple University, in conjunction with the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection Library in Celebration of The Legacy of John Coltrane, featured emerging artists Justin Griggs, Henry Koban Payne, Donavan Fields, and Philly legendary musician, and mentor Bobby Zankel! I Love this new chapter in my career, as stated by our illuminating, prestigious good brother Hines! Freedom Now, Freedom Now has been a push, a cry, a sacrificial ceremony reaching for Black Folks!
Now, what you see, what you have is, the beat goes on, the struggle continues, but sometimes, “There is a Win!” The celebration may be short-fused; nonetheless, the victory march is well worth it! I witnessed the pot of gold at the end of the “Rainbow” with this Majestic Musical Treat! There are heavenly and spiritual interventions. There are times when the Holy Spirit touches you, and what an arousing, lovingly uplifting, glorious, anointing moment it is.
Brother Hines, the Youth Ensemble, the whole Clef Club Family Stand-Up. The Musical Tribute to JOHN WILLIAM “TRANE” COLTRANE featuring The Lovett Hines Legacy Group was a praiseworthy moment composed by the angels of the highest, approved, signed, sealed, and delivered from the Heavens Above!
And, to add to this fabulous momentous occasion, the audience camaraderie was the dessert that made everything exquisitely enchanting! What an evening of Jazz Delight! What a historical freedom now and forever occurrence!
In closing, I can assure you these young folks’ parents know where they are, who they’re with, and what they are doing! Yes, showing the beauty, brilliance, and gifts of our children and youth is making Freedom Ring–over and over again!!! Thanks again, Brother Lovett and Sister Carla Hines, for the remarkable guidance, perseverance, commitment, and “LOVE” given and gave to Our Future with The Youth. Y’all give to the world!
