Ambassador of Colombia to the United States Juan Carlos Pinzón speaks at Community College of Philadelphia, focusing on business opportunities in Colombia

On May 18th, the Ambassador of Colombia to the United States, Juan Carlos Pinzon, spoke at the Community College of Philadelphia to discuss business opportunities in Colombia as well as give a brief background of the U.S. and Colombia’s trade relations. In addition, Ambassador Pinzon discussed the current trends of the U.S. relative to trade, investments, and innovation. Pinzon also took the opportunity to explain the aspects of import and export as well as: logistics, health care, health technologies, and other industries.“It’s an honor to be here today,” said Ambassador Pinzon starting his presentation, talking about the history of relations between the United States and Colombia, which spans back 200 years ago. “Colombia has been involved in many investments with the United States. This is why we want to continue creating business opportunities,” said Ambassador Pinzon. “It’s essential that we create these opportunities and help establish jobs in Colombia.”

When asked about supporting Colombia, Ambassador Pinzon responding by stating: “We care for our exports, and we want Colombian products to be sold here.” He described the importance of tourism is for Colombia, “Tourism was on a steady increase before the pandemic happened, and we did take a hit, but we’ve recovered. We want all of you to visit Colombia. We hope that you can experience the wonders of our nation. It’s needed.” The Ambassador, emphasized that the most enticing factor of Colombia: its nature. “While dealing with the challenges of climate change, we have been valuing and understanding the importance of being a country that’s so dominant in nature,” said Ambassador Pinzon.
