The title alone is a mouth full. His Women, His Wife, My Man takes you on a personal journey through Monica Mason’s most painful and turbulent relationship with a married man. Monica describes it as a relationship from hell. However, she experienced personal and spiritual growth from enduring the heartbreaking trials and tribulations in a love triangle relationship.
Monica “Simply Monica” Mason is a vivacious media personality, motivational speaker, comedic orator, playwright, author and entrepreneur who exemplifies what multi-talented looks like. Simply Monica is the owner of Heat100Radio and host of “The Morning Rush.” Monica continues to wow us as she hosted a Book Signing at the sparkly decorated COTA headquarters. The event space was cleaned from top to bottom to ensure the safety of the guests. Some of the attendees included John Barber, Natasha Harris, Jermaine Quick, Roxi Fab, Hollywood Him and a few more.
Everyone gathered socially distant as we anticipated viewing the mini-movie of His Women, His Wife, My Man, edited by Jermaine Quick. Roxi Fab of 107.9 starred in the movie as the main character, Monique Atwater.
Monique Atwater, is a secure and confident businesswoman, on the rise in the male-dominated radio industry. When the truth about the love triangle hits the fan, Monique Atwater is forced to fight her way back to the top, by defeating devastating loneliness and depression. Monique finds her strength in God and her personal confidant “James.” Will she find love or will love find her? Will she continue to hurt or hurt those that genuinely care for her? I had an in-depth, heartfelt conversation with Monica about the heartbreaking recollection of forbidden love. When a love triangle occurs, no one wins; everyone endures the pain. Shelly Shell: What was the purpose of sharing your story in a book?
Monica Mason: My purpose for sharing this story was to heal personally and in hope that my sharing would help someone else who may have thought they were alone or embarrassed by falling in love with the wrong person for all the wrong reasons.
Shelly Shell: When it comes to such a personal story, so many people are involved, how do you keep the identities private?
Monica Mason: The way the storyline is written I’ve shared that the main character Monique Atwater is me however the other characters were added to build and relate to others in certain situations.
Shelly Shell: With the release of the story has it caused any friction?
Monica Mason: If this book was put out 5 years ago, I feel that it would have caused a lot of friction not just for myself but for others. Given the time frame and maturity as well as peace that I’m now in, I don’t feel that anyone would feel targeted or hurt.
Shelly Shell: How can the His Women, His Wife, My Man, help others?
Monica Mason: It’s a story that some know all too well until it hits home, and we are blinded. It takes hurt and exposure to learn from pain. If we don’t learn from our mistakes and then be able to talk about them in order to help others not go down that same road, it was all for nothing and we will continue to be angry and bitter when others continue to live happy lives.
In this book, I pray people will learn that anything done in the dark will come to light and people’s lives change. It’s not fair to the parties that were lied to and cheated out of another two people’s lack of commitment and failure to close doors for one’s self-gain.
Truth, Trust and Love should be key ingredients in one’s happiness. This book will give men and women a new look at relationships not only with each other, but with family and friends. And for those who are in these situations, get out and just know that “You Are Not Your Past” and it’s ok to be alone until you find yourself or God sends you YOUR soulmate not someone else’s.
