PHILADELPHIA – Saturday, June 25, Race Director Kathleen Titus will officially kick off the AACR Philadelphia Marathon 26.2 Training season with Bart Yasso, Mark Sullivan, and friends from the Philadelphia Runner. Bart Yasso has been dubbed the “mayor of running” throughout his 31-year career at Runner’s World magazine, where he served as the Chief Running Officer and is one of a few people to have completed races on all seven continents. Mark Sullivan is a Philadelphia Marathon LEGacy Runner and one of only two people to have run every Philadelphia Marathon. “On behalf of the City of Philadelphia I am excited to welcome all runners, from those just starting their running journey to the seasoned runners, as they begin their 2022 marathon training journey,” said Deputy Managing Director David Wilson. “Thank you to our partners AACR, Dietz & Watson, and Rothman Orthopaedics for their continued support leading up to Philadelphia Marathon Weekend.” Participants will gather at the bottom of the Philadelphia Museum of Art Steps beginning at 7 a.m. to warm up and take a group photo. The run will start at 7:30 a.m. Runners will head out along Kelly Drive as a group and break off according to distance (3, 6, or 8 miles) and pace.
