Advertising in Community Publications

Last month’s issue explored the importance of having an advertising budget regardless of the size of a business. This month, we’ll explore the “Ways to Allocate Smaller Advertising Budgets for Maximum Effectiveness.” With inflation and the economy being an influx, it may be difficult for some small business owners to even approach the concept of advertising. It may appear expensive, but advertising can be cost-effective while contributing to the growth and development of businesses. 

Use Community and Regional Publications 

Community publications offer lower rates than advertising in mainstream media publications and are especially useful when introducing goods and services to the community; forming relationships with smaller community markets has the advantage of targeting audiences that read those communications. Print ads in community publications are also a way to get recognized in the neighborhoods; you currently do or plan on doing business. This can be extremely effective for brick-and-mortar establishments, as many people read or subscribe to local or regional publications; because they want to receive information relevant to their geographical area.
