On January 2, homegoing services were held to celebrate the life of Kangol. If you knew Kangol, this is a celebration, said BowLegged Lou of Full Force as he gave his remarks during the service.
God, I thank you for Kangol Kid’s life. His charm, smile, and love will live on in all, and I do mean all that knew him. Family and friends gathered to speak and reflect on Kang’s life, although some couldn’t attend due to the onslaught of Covid cases.
For those able to attend, almost everyone who knew him said, “Kangol was a brother to them,” which shows you how hard he loves people, which is why this is so difficult to write but even harder for those lifelong friends who had to speak or share stories.
“It was an incredible honor to serve my Fequiere family and officiate the services of my brother beloved, Shaun Shiller Fequiere, aka The Kangol Kid. Though it was one of the most challenging things I have ever done, I pray God was well pleased,” said Rev. Shaunda Sutton.
