The Chester Fire Department’s mission is to provide fire protection services aimed at minimizing the loss of life and property from fires, explosions, hazardous materials, and natural disasters. Along with this mission, it’s been the goal of the department to establish a comprehensive fire safety education and prevention program designed to fit the needs of the entire community.Â
In keeping with its mission, the Fire Department’s Explorers Program assists young men and women in 6th grades through 20 years of age to make more informed decisions about future careers and determine if a particular career path is suited for them or not.
Chester Fire Fighters and EMS Explorers get firsthand experience being a firefighter or an emergency medical services provider. Students from Chester High were thrilled to have the opportunity and fully embraced the experience.
