A Black Greatness The Mighty Heremakhet The Sphinx (Part 3)

Reading Time: 2 minutes

“There is no height to which we cannot climb by using the active intelligence of our minds.”

Marcus Garvey

Historian Anthony Browder informs us, “While the people and history of Africa were being appropriated, their religion, philosophy, science, and symbols were stripped of all traces of Africaness and modified to suit a new cultural orientation, and then reintroduced into society as original creations. When Kemet was conquered by foreigners, it was not uncommon to find the images of African personalities modified to reflect the appearance of the new rulers of the nation.” He also informs us that a small statue of the Sphinx on display in the British Museum actually states that “The face of the statue was reworked” during the Roman occupation of Egypt.

If we, as Black people, start becoming more aware of what we have achieved and created in world history, the chains of white supremacy will surely start to become weak and brittle. To achieve Black Power, we as a people must be aware of what has transpired within our collective existence. One extremely important aspect of our demise is the psychological siege put upon our minds. This psychological siege by the white man includes the strategic and forced insertion of false memories.

Thinking that Egypt is a white nation is a false memory. I have actually met countless Black people (within my travels) that think Egypt is in the Middle East. Yes, today, there are thousands of Black people that absolutely take Egypt out of North Africa.

Thinking that the Mighty Heremakhet-Sphinx was built by white people in their own image is clearly a false memory.
