The music industry mourns another family member’s loss. After months of fighting cancer, B. Jeffrey Grant-Clark died last week. Some called him “Uncle Jeff” or just Jeff or Ben. He was known as a direct communicator with a kind and loving persona.
B. Jeffrey Grant-Clark served as the Vice President of Radio Promotions & Artist Relations for the Verity Gospel Group Label (RCA Inspiration). He was also a noted photographer who captured breathtaking moments of Gospel artists that later appeared in the book “Faces of Praise! Photos and Gospel Inspirations to Encourage” by Carol M. Mackey.
Whether it was a music conference, convention, seminar, and/or workshop, Jeff always took the time to acknowledge others. He mentored and inspired so many to be their best selves.
He worked with all the major artists and was instrumental in many of them taking top positions on the music charts. He introduced Mary Mary to us at the various listening parties across the country before they became national and international stars. Jeff also served on expert panels giving advice on how to properly navigate the industry.
Jeff Grant impacted and influenced the lives of many in the Gospel music industry, including Kirk Franklin, Virtue, Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Donnie McClurkin, The Canton Spirituals, and so many more.
