Chester City continues fight against Covid with vaccination initiatives

Reading Time: < 1 minute

With Covid variants changing rapidly, stomach bugs and strep throat a constant threat–it seems that the pandemic has left us with quite a few unpleasant and, in some cases, deadly Maladies to deal with.

Covid is most debilitating and devastating to seniors, people with chronic illnesses, and it appears that young children are also extremely susceptible to the new variants.

The Chester Bureau of Health and its community partners have done a spectacular job of keeping the community informed. We may not be in the vise grips of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, but sadly we’ll be living with its constant companionship and repercussions for unforeseen future. As there is no cure, vaccination is the only preventative measure at this point.

In their continuing effort to vaccinate residents, led by Rosetta Carter, Director of Community Health Education Services, the City of Chester has held a series of Vaccine Booster Shot/Flu Clinics. From January 25th, February 8th, and March 2nd, clinics were held at Chester City Hall, The Access Center, and Franklin Lodge #58, respectively.

With the support of the City of Chester and Jaimini Patel, R.Ph, Owner of Woodlyn Pharmacy, and the Black Equity Coalition, we are able to provide both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
