The Power of the Son or Sun!

Reading Time: 4 minutes

May 11th, Happy Birth Anniversary to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan! Thank you for many years striving to encourage people to obey Allah (God) and clean up their lives. Thank you for being an example for me and others to follow.

The Bible says, “From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised! (Psalm 113:3) We need to acknowledge the physical and spiritual connection to understand Allah (God) better. Over the years, different scriptures have made references to Heaven and Earth, or on Earth, as it is in Heaven, clearly laying out a connection between the two. When we think of the power of The Sun, can you imagine that power being in a human being on a spiritual level? Why or why not? The Bible says, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11)

The sun, according to wikipedia.org, “Is the star at the center of the Solar System. It is a nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma, heated to incandescence by nuclear fusion re- actions in its core, radiating the energy daily as visible light and infrared radiation. It is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth.” Life on Earth could not exist without the sun. The sun is 93,000,000 miles from the Earth, yet it warms it and helps to purify it. However, if it were any closer, people would get more than sunburn (smile).

Have you noticed your mood when The Sun is shining versus days that it is raining or snowing? Do you get more done on sunny days? Are you more likely to go other places not necessarily on your schedule for that day just because the sun is shining? Why? The energy we get from The Sun is real. We should learn to recognize that seem energy we get from The Son. We have people that have been affected by The Son, and you can get some energy from their little light. However, just imagine if you were able to meet a person like that, but not just to say you met them, you want that energy and life that comes from the words coming out of their mouth in which are coming from Allah (God) who created The Sun. The Bible says, “Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.” (Matthew 13:43)

Remember the church song, “This little light of mine.” We have to use our light to transform our life first and en- courage others to do the same. Now, we get our little light only after meeting The Son and eating the bread of life. However, whether you are looking at the sun or the son, we are not to worship either. Worship is for Allah (God) alone. Nevertheless, we must learn to appreciate their tremendous value, not taking their presence for granted and realizing we are alive because of them. The Holy Qur’an says, “If you are ungrateful, then surely Allah is above the need of you. And He likes not ungratefulness in His ser- vants. And if you are grateful, He likes it for you. And no bearer of a burden will bear another’s burden. Then to your Lord is your return, then will He inform you of what you did. Surely He is Knower of what is in the breasts.”(39:7)

The son is needed! We must have an example! The power of the son is not diminished just because we do not follow His instructions. The Holy Qur’an says, “Whoever obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys Allah. And whoever turns away, We have not sent thee as a keeper over them.” (4:80) We need to understand, Allah (God) did not change, and before He destroys a people He always raises a warner to encourage the people to clean up their lives and obey Allah (God). Are we tired of the darkness and the things that happen in the darkness? The Bible says, “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Who- ever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12) The word follow, according to dictionary.com, means to go or come after; move or travel behind; come after in time or order. We should strive to follow the son and do what Allah (God) wants us to do, just like the son, so we can truly walk in the light.

We want to reflect Allah (God), and in doing so, people should look at you and see life in you. We should have a glow! The Believer should have a glow! We should have a light! The Believer should have a light! We should have power, on our own little level, to encourage people to do better. We should have power on our own little level to in- fluence peace in our family, in our community and in our nation. We have a lot of work to do! The Bible says, “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” (Matthew 5:45)

The Bible says, “And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5) This is the end goal, but until then, we should strive daily to not only walk in the light, but bear witness to the son. Please stay encouraged!
