PHL Diversity receives 2022 Corporate Award from the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals

PHILADELPHIA – PHL Diversity, a business development division of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB), received the 2022 Corporate Award from the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals (NCBMP) at their annual conference. The Corporate Award is presented annually to an organization that has demonstrated a record of making a strong positive impact for people of color within the meetings and events industry. 

“We are so honored to be recognized by the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals” said PHL Diversity Executive Director Sheila Alexander-Reid. “PHL Diversity and the PHLCVB have prioritized inclusivity and equity in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years, and we thank NCBMP for honoring and celebrating the longstanding work we do.” 

“PHL Diversity has long been an advocate for people of color in tourism and hospitality, leading the way in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion across the industry” said Richard Lee Snow, PHL Diversity Advisory Board chair and United Negro College Fund regional development director for the Washington, D.C. region. “We are grateful to have received this honor from NCBMP, an organization that has had a significant impact in the industry through educating and empowering African American hospitality professionals.” 

NCBMP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the training needs of African American meeting planners and association executives. As a result, NCBMP members are able to maximize a greater return on the meeting dollar investment for their respective organizations, effect positive change in the hospitality industry as it relates to African Americans, and become a voice in the hospitality industry on issues that affect the African American community.
