Praise and Worship: Christ, the Hope of All the World Christmas Concert

Reading Time: 2 minutes

After 2½ years of a global pandemic, political strife, civil unrest, and rising crime nationwide, Philadelphia’s True Light Fellowship Church’s music ministry is hosting its annual Christmas concert to bring hope, joy, and inspiration all wrapped in one. Pastor Morris Scott (Min. of Music) is excited that this concert will be a full in-person experience for all to enjoy.
In 2020, the Christmas concert was virtual. In 2021 it was an in-person social distancing experience. This year it is completely live and in-house, with streaming options for those that are not able to attend. This free concert is Sunday, December 11 at 6 pm; and will feature national recording artist Stephen Boyd of Salisbury, Maryland, Violinist Katherine Burton, and Saxophonist Leon Jordan, along with TLFC Combined Choirs, Ensembles, and Bell Choir.
When we asked Pastor Scott for some of his personal reflections as to the what his hopes are for this concert, he shared, “True Light Fellowship church is excited about this year’s concert because the message in the songs we will sing will give hope and joy to a world filled with discouragement and pain. Our theme is ‘Christ, the hope of all the earth.’ As we look at the news and social media, we recognize that people are crying out for hope, joy, and love. This is exactly what the Gospel message in our song brings.
We asked Pastor Scott what makes this concert so special. He answered, “Although we have a Christmas concert every year, this year is special because we have re-assembled our combined choir to sing live after a couple of years of their absence due to the pandemic. We believe there is something unique and special about choirs and ensembles because they showcase a unity of message and a unity of purpose, which is not often seen today.”
Pastor Scott continued saying “Attendees can expect dynamic and powerful songs of varying styles, sung by people of varying ages; but although the styles may vary, the story is still the same—-that Jesus Christ came to save that which is lost and to bring hope to a lost world.“
True Light Fellowship Church is located at 6400 Ardleigh Street in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. Come enjoy it in person or watch it live on TLFC’s Facebook and YouTube pages as well as directly from truelightfellowship.org.
