Ms. Berry Cares brings The Black Doctors Covid Consortium to The Universal Institute Charter School & Rick Watson has two sold out shows for Men Lie Too Much Women Lie Too Good

Reading Time: 2 minutes

There is nothing like seeing smiles and joy on the faces of the children. I had the opportunity to stop by Universal Institute Charter School for the Caring for Communities event.

Founder & CEO Andria Mayberry of Ms. Berry Cares Foundation (MBCF) and her team are in full swing for the holiday season of [Giving]. With the help of generous corporate sponsors, MBCF’s current campaign, ‘Caring for Communities’ is geared toward assisting families in need. MBCF randomly selects schools to host throughout the city, which will continue through 1/5/2023.

Ms. Berry and her team hosted a giveback and resource event for the parents and students at Universal Institute Charter School located in South Philly. The event entailed free raffles, giveaways, food, presentations and more. The Manager of Community Outreach, Shayna Rudd, of (The Black Doctors Covid Consortium) gave a powerful presentation on the importance of healthcare within the communities. Several other resource vendors included Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Philadelphia Fire Department, PECO, EXP Realty, The Mastermind Group (financial literacy), Glen Hamilton Insurance Group, volunteers from Giant Foods and special guest Cuppy’s Playhouse.

MBCF’s mission is to be a bridge of opportunity and support for families with children managing intellectual disabilities. Ms. Berry Cares empowers parents and guardians to be champions in the lives, health, and careers of their children.

The foundation also provides care packages to those who are in need. Visit their website at msberrycares.org for more information, and follow them on Instagram @msberrycares
