Amanda is on in Philly

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Amanda Seales is that turned-up actress best known for being on the HBO limited series Insecure. She is one of the first women of color to have a comedy special on HBO.

That comedian that disarms you with her subtle yet sharp commentaries, Amanda is also knowledgeable about almost everything hip-hop. She is now the new syndicated radio host in the mornings for 100.3 RNB in Philadelphia and other Radio one and Urban one stations in North America. Amanda is also touring and was at the Kimmel Center’s Miller Theater in Philadelphia this past Saturday night. Check the web for more cities, locations, details, and specific information.

Recently Amanda took time out of her business schedule to sit down with me to discuss her achievements and future goals.

Bill Allen: Who is that person or individual that has your phone number, knows your address, and will say hey, you should not be doing that?

Amanda: I have a close group of people that keep me grounded. I have some very close friends that have been there for me for years. They are really important to me. I am a west coast baby, who grew up in Orlando, Florida, went to college in New York, and as an adult, I have been sort of a world traveler. But everyone should have somebody because so many do not have that.

Bill Allen: Who inspires you as a comedian?

Amanda: I do not necessarily have comedians that are inspirational, but I do admire people that impact our lives. That makes me admire a lot of people that are creative and really want to make the world a better place.

Bill Allen: You have done some of the expected progressions as an artist in the entertainment industry, comedian, event host, Mistress of Ceremony, Podcast Host, and Actress. Was being a radio host part of the expectation also?
