Thursday, October 13th, the City of Chester, with the support of the Woodlyn Pharmacy, immunized over 80 residents with Flu, Covid-19 and Covid Booster vaccines. Members of Local 413 and Chester City workers were among those in line getting their vaccine shots.
This is important as the community moves forward, given the constantly changing variants of Covid and the start of the upcoming flu season. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and influential medical professionals are advising staying vigilant amid the prediction for a more severe flu season and the newer Covid variants. It’s due to the introduction of the vaccines that the hospitalization and death rates are not as high as they were at the beginning of the pandemic. Though strides are being made against Covid, vaccines in arms are continually needed to avoid hospitalizations and deaths. Officials are predicting a potential Twindemic of Covid and Flu during the winter season.
