Sidney: Documentary highlights life and career

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Last week I welcomed two new talk show hosts to daytime television, Jennifer Hudson and Sherri Shepherd. Though we said goodbye to “The Wendy Williams Show,” there are two shows that I will personally miss: “The Real” and “The Nick Cannon Show.”

When Tamera Mowry-Housley left “The Real.” I think that was the end of the show. Unfortunately, the audience died down, and although Loni Love, Jeannie Mai Jenkins, Adrienne Houghton, and Garcelle Beauvais tried to keep the show rolling, after two years, the show was canceled.

Much to my surprise, “The Nick Cannon Show” was also canceled. It was so refreshing to see a male talk show host. There has not been one since “The Montell Williams Show,” not including those theatrical shows like “Steve Wilco Show,” “Jerry Springer” or “Maury.” Nick’s competition was “Ellen,” The “Wendy Williams Show,” “The View,” “The Talk,” “The Drew Barrymore Show,” “The Tamron Hall Show” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” I guess folks weren’t ready for a male talk show host. Let’s see who gives it another try.
