A Father With Two Sons

Reading Time: < 1 minute

There is a story of a father who had two sons, one he named life, and the other he named death.

Each day life would get up and go to work while death would just sit around the house all day doing nothing. At the end of each work day life would come home and store the treasurers he gained that day into a box he placed in his room.

This one particular day as always, life got up, scurried around the house then went to work. When he returned home again, he went to his room to place the treasurers of that day into his box only to discover when he went to his room. The box was not there.

He ran downstairs to his father screaming frantically; that his box was gone as well as all of his treasurers. His father looked at him and laughed. Life yelled at his father. Don’t you understand what I’m telling you? My box and all of my treasurers are gone. So why are you laughing? His father said, son I’m not laughing because all your treasurers are gone.

I’m laughing because today, I had a suspicious feeling that death was up to something, so I went into your room; and I removed all of your valued treasurers from the box. So the only thing death was able to claim was the box.
