“Stop The Double Standard”

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Lord, we thank You for Waking us up this morning. Give us the will to live and think today by your standards. Amen.

Many of us live our lives with a double standard. Think about this. Have you ever noticed?

When the other person acts a certain way, he is “ill-tempered.” When you do it, it’s your “nerves.”

When the other person is set in his ways, he’s “obstinate.” When you are that way, it’s you just being “firm.”

When the other person doesn’t like your friends, he’s “prejudiced.” When you don’t like his, you are simply showing that you are a good judge of human nature.

When the other person tries to treat someone especially well, he is a “brown noser.” When you try the same thing, you are using “tact.”

When the other person takes his time to do things, he is “dead slow.” When you do it, you are being “deliberate.”

When the other person spends a lot he is a “spendthrift.” When you do it you are being “generous.”

When the other person holds on to his money he is “stingy.” When you do it you are being “prudent.”

When the other person dresses extra well, he’s being “flashy.” When you do it, it’s being “trendy or stylish.”

When the other person runs great risks in business, he is “foolhardy,” When you do it, you are a “great financier.”

When the other person says what he thinks, he is being “spiteful.” When you do it, you are being “frank.”
