Senator John Kane hosted the first Community Health Fair on Thursday, February 17th, in the Chester City Hall Community Room. Partners in the initiative included the Delaware County Covid-19 Task Force, State Representative Brian Kirkland, the City of Chester, Main Line Health, Riddle Hospital, Independence Blue Cross, Crozier Health, Wills Eye Hospital, Keystone VIP, Chester Fire Department, Highmark Wholecare, Crozier Health, Delaware
County Emergency Medical Services, Foundation for Delaware County, Office of Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon, and the Delaware County Health Department.
Matthew Thompson, Head Nurse for the Delaware County Health Department commented, “I work here to make it better.” As a Navy veteran and someone who’s worked with trauma, Thompson is uniquely equipped for his position. Thompson continued, “The science around Covid is in a constant flux of change as new data is being reviewed constantly; but, the best defense we have at this point are the vaccines and masking.”
