On February 17th Philadelphia Sheriff Rochelle Bilal held a press conference to announce the upcoming 2-Day Healthcare Clinic. The upcoming clinic is sponsored by DentMed and Remote Area Medical (R.A.M.), a global organization providing free, quality, medical, dental, and vision care services to those in need with the Office of the Sheriff serving as co-host as part of its community outreach efforts.
“We are saying that this is one of the things that is so needed by our citizens. I may be an elected official–but I’m a resident of this city, and when I see something that needs to be addressed… I’m not in a box. We must do more,” said Sheriff Bilal in her opening statement.
The Sheriff’s Office, City of Philadelphia, Septa, Councilman Curtis Jones, Councilwoman Maria Sanchez, Philadelphia Police Department, Local 57, District Council 33, The Charles Foundation, Laborer’s 332, Laborer’s District Council, and Brown’s Super Store are part of a consortium of organizations who’ve partnered together to bring a two-day free health care clinic to the constituents of Philadelphia.
