Too often today, we hear that our youth are being left out of the conversation about violence in our communities and that they need a seat at the table. The reality of the need for youth involvement was realized when Attorney General Josh Shapiro met with youth from the Wright Recreation Center in West Philadelphia.
On Thursday, February 3, Attorney General Josh Shapiro visited Wright Recreation Center, where he took a tour of the Alan Horwitz ‘Sixth Man’ Center currently under construction. He stayed after the tour to shoot hoops with the students and attend a presentation of Philadelphia Youth Basketball’s Off-Court programming.
The presentation and youth discussion was a real heart-to-heart with the students about growing up in Philadelphia today. AG Shapiro and the youth spoke about violence in the communities and the unfortunate reality that many of our youth believe guns are needed to survive today…
