On this night, they all stood tall and proud. At this year’s running of the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2021, over a dozen legendary sports athletes became the newest inductees into this year’s group of Philadelphia Sports. Among those inducted into this year’s Class of 2021 were female basketball star Yolanda Laney, former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Seth Joyner, and former Detroit Piston and Coatesville High School basketball star Richard “Rip” Hamilton.
This year’s induction ceremony and dinner took place on Thursday, November 4, at the Rivers Casino Center, located at 1001 North Delaware Avenue. Many families and friends came out to honor the inductees. At least thirteen sports legends were honored that night, and 16 others were highlighted inside the magazine and recognized on the 2021 list. This year’s honorees were selected as the best of 236 nominated this year.
