For readers who might be new to the SCOOP USA Media Community Newspaper, this Civics column, in a way, is like going back to school to refresh our brains on just what civics is. Unfortunately a lot of schools around the country and right here in Pennsylvania, no longer have a full-blown, regularly scheduled civics course on student rosters. Whatever geniuses came up with the idea that civics wasn’t an important subject to teach youth, from elementary through high school, made a grave mistake, in my opinion.
I give credit to the publisher of this newspaper for making sure that civics will be shared right here in the SCOOP, even if it’s not being taught inside of a lot of classrooms.
