One of the best things I love about being a columnist for the SCOOP USA Newspaper is because the Publisher of our paper doesn’t ask us to only write about big-name people, recognizable elected officials and leaders, and folks who are in the news all the time. Sherri Darden likes us to never forget about everyday people who work hard, who love Philadelphia, and who are always working to do things to uplift others in their community. If you don’t belong to a well-heeled organization or some big group that everyone is familiar with doesn’t mean we won’t give you some time and attention and a spotlight in this newspaper. Thank God.
My momma always told me, “It’s nice to be important, but it’s also important to be nice. Sometimes the people, the leaders whom everyone knows, and you always see on the TV news and read about them in the newspaper, are not the nicest people in the world. Some of them long ago, forgot from whence they came.
