PHILADELPHIA, PA – PhillyGoes2College’s “I AM PHL” contest invites Philadelphia high schoolers to submit original works to be featured at the Wawa Welcome America Festival. PhillyGoes2College is powered by the Philadelphia Education Fund. This is the third consecutive year that PhillyGoes2College and the Wawa Welcome America Festival have partnered with Vanguard to highlight and celebrate the aspirations of Philly high school students through “I AM PHL.”
In a continued effort to expose students in Philly to this creative contest, PG2C is hosting the “I AM PHL Student Summit” on Saturday, March 29, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at Thomas Jefferson University’s East Falls Campus. The theme for this year’s event is “My Future, My Philly,” exposing students to the city’s rich arts and culture. Students will gain exclusive insights from Philly-based creatives and industry leaders, learning how to submit a winning piece, explore career pathways, and build a successful future in the arts. They will also participate in an open mic and workshops designed to help them present, own, and embody their art, music, or spoken word with confidence.
