Highlights from the Inaugural Breathe Women’s Conference

Reading Time: 3 minutes

The inaugural Breathe Women’s Conference hosted by Indie Go Inspire took place on December 14, 2024, at The Grow Place in Wilmington, Delaware. The conference was created as a safe, empowering space for women who are often overwhelmed by life’s pressures, offering them a chance to release tension and gain practical, biblical tools to navigate their challenges.

The conference opened with a heartfelt prayer by Stephanie Artist and a welcome by host Patrice DeLisser, who set the tone for the day’s transformative experience. Patrice posed an essential question to the attendees: What does it mean to breathe? The event’s concept revolved around the word “breathe” to explore how each letter could guide participants in learning how to navigate through life’s stressors and find peace and strength in the midst of challenges.

As part of the interactive experience, Patrice welcomed an incredible lineup of expert speakers and friends to share in the dialogue. Desiree “Dezzie” Neal, Bertina Pelzer, Shandai Moore-Jenkins, Dr. Stacia Wilkins, and Stephanie Artist contributed to the discussions, offering valuable perspectives on how women can breathe through their situations and find balance.

A pivotal moment came when Dr. Stacia Wilkins and Bertina Pelzer introduced practical breathing techniques, guiding the attendees in exercises designed to bring oxygen into the right parts of the body at the right time. This session helped participants to not only calm their bodies but also to create a deeper connection between mind, body, and spirit.

The atmosphere shifted dramatically when Patrice DeLisser opened up to the panel, sharing her personal trauma from childhood that had kept her from “taking breaths” for many years. As Patrice shared her vulnerable story, the panelists began to minister to her, offering prayers, support, and encouragement. The moment marked a breakthrough for Patrice, and the entire room felt a deep spiritual shift.

As the breakthrough continued, the worship portion of the conference began. Tia Sharee and Maryta Powell led attendees in songs of freedom, praise, and victory, filling the room with powerful anthems that inspired worshippers to stand, dance, and cry out in gratitude. Christina Bell, who is known for playing Twinkie Clark in the LMN drama The Clark Sisters, also performed and shared her own story. Christina’s sweet persona and anointed voice uplifted the crowd, and her music had many in the audience on their feet, praising and seeking God’s presence.

The final moments of the conference were marked by deep, heartfelt worship. For nearly 20 minutes, the room was filled with the sounds of worship, deliverance, and healing. Many attendees experienced what could only be described as a shift in the atmosphere, feeling chains being broken and strongholds being destroyed as they encountered God’s presence in a powerful and personal way.

As the conference came to a close, there was a palpable sense of transformation. Women left with a renewed sense of hope, strength, and faith, excited to see what 2025 would bring. The Breathe Women’s Conference was not just an event but a life-changing experience that empowered women to release the burdens they had been carrying and embrace the peace and freedom that comes with truly breathing.

Indie Go Inspire, the organization behind the event, continues to work toward uplifting others by spreading the good news of Jesus Christ across the world. This conference marked just the beginning of their mission to provide a platform for women to heal, grow, and inspire one another.
