PHILADELPHIA, PA—Saturday, November 16, 2024, the Phila. Branch NAACP held elections for Officers and Executive Committee. This was a long-awaited election due to some challenges within the chapter. The election process was administered by the National NAACP office, and it was all done either online or via text to current members’ cell phones. The national office chose to use a system called Election Buddy to ensure a clean and smooth election process.
Catherine Hicks and her slate of NAACP members ran for office on Saturday, November 16, 2024, and Hicks did have an opponent who also came to the table with his own slate of candidates. Emmanuel Bussie ran for President. However, once the vote count was completed, Catherine Hicks came out on top and was re-elected as the Philadelphia Branch President, along with her entire slate.
Catherine Hicks stated, “I am honored and humbled to again be elected to serve as President of the Philadelphia Branch NAACP.
