On Saturday, August 10, 2024, Chester Township hosted its 2nd Annual Chester Township Day, organized with Councilwoman Risheena Payne, the Delaware County Housing Authority, Word Walking Ministries, and Eternal Hope of Glory Churches, with assistance from the Chester Township Fire and Police Departments.
Chester Township Day is the brainchild of Councilwoman Payne, along with Chester Township Councilmembers. The focus of this year’s event was to promote unity throughout the Township and surrounding communities and to have a festive event for all to enjoy.
The event was sponsored by Highmark Wholecare, ESSA Bank, Everest, M & A Market, RGM Development Corporation, Sun Center Studios, State Representative Leanne Krueger (D-161st District), and Senator John Kane (D-9th District PA).
“The 2nd Annual Chester Township Day was a success in bringing the community together for a day of entertainment and fun. With all of our partner agencies on board to offer assistance, we plan to continue to build on this for future events,” said Councilman Calvin Bernard, Chester Township Chairman.
As always, the event didn’t disappoint. There was something for everyone–resources for the parents, a bouncy house and backpacks full of supplies for the young scholars, fun games, coloring books, and other treats added to the festivities on the occasion.
The Township would like to extend its gratitude to all who contributed time, donations, and resources and to all those who attended. To our young scholars, Chester Township wishes you a healthy, happy, safe, and successful school year!
