Jalen Hurts and Lincoln Financial host KB Foundation students before send-off to mentoring camp

Reading Time: 2 minutes

PHILADELPHIA, August 1, 2024—Jalen Hurts and leaders from Lincoln Financial came together at Lincoln Financial Field to host a special send-off for 60 Philadelphia-area boys (ages 11-13) attending mentorship camp with the KB Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to building the developmental and social competencies of Philadelphia youth.

Jalen Hurts and Lincoln Financial senior leadership kicked off their newly announced community-focused partnership by engaging with the kids in several activities to send them off to camp. The activities included interactive and educational financial literacy games, which focused on budgeting skills, facilitated by Lincoln Financial, and campers were gifted credit to the Eagles Pro Shop to exercise their learning in real-time.

During the send-off, they unveiled the KB Foundation’s new bus, which was donated by the Jalen Hurts Foundation and the Lincoln Financial Foundation to transport students to the mentorship camp.

The KB Foundation put its students in front of C-Suite executives for Lunch & Learns and other activities to introduce them to specific industries and businesses. With the partnership between the Jalen Hurts Foundation and Lincoln Financial, the KB Foundation will now be able to double the number of Lunch & Learns and bring over 30 students to each activity, saving almost $70,000 in transportation costs each year, money that can now be used to support more students with additional programming.

Jalen sat down with campers during their buffet breakfast, giving them life advice and surprising them with the Philadelphia Eagles mascot, Swoop. The campers had a surprise of their own for Jalen, presenting him with a cake to celebrate his 26th birthday, which is August 7.

Moments like these are important to Jalen; he appreciates any time he can spend engaging with local kids in the community. “You just want to really equip the youth with the tools that they need so they can make the choices they want and choose whatever road they want to go down later on when that time comes,” said Hurts.
