City Council confirmed seven (7) Appointed School Board Nominees.
Resolutions 240254,240255, 240256, 240257, 240258,240259, 240260, 240262 introduced by Councilmember Isaiah Thomas for Council President Kenyatta Johnson.
Passing of Resolutions 240254, 240255, 240256, 240257, 240258, 240259, 240260, and 240262, respectively confirming the appointment of Crystal Cubbage, Joan Stern, Reginal Streater, Wanda Novales, Whitney Jones, Chau Wing Lam, and Cheryl Harper to the Board of Education of the School District of Philadelphia.
City Council re-confirmed one (1) Appointed School Board Nominee.
Passing of Resolution 240255 re-confirming the appointment of Sarah-Ashley Andrew to the Board of Education of the School District of Philadelphia.
School Board Appointee Joyce Wilkerson is still pending confirmation by City Council.
Following the confirmations, Mayor Parker issued the following statement on Philadelphia City Council’s vote on her nominations to the Philadelphia Board of Education:
“I continue to support my entire slate of nominees, including Joyce Wilkerson. I selected nominees who wholeheartedly share my vision for public education in our city.”

Privilege Resolution Honoring Philadelphia Children’s Alliance and Proclaiming April Child Abuse Prevention Month in the City of Philadelphia Introduced by Quetcy M. Lozada.
National Child Abuse Prevention Month, also known as Child Abuse Prevention Month, has been observed each year in the month of April since its inception in 1983. Child abuse encompasses the mistreatment, physical, mental, and emotional neglect, or exploitation that results in harm to a child’s health, development, or dignity.
Philadelphia Children’s Alliance, established in 1989, has been providing step-by-step care and support for the victims of child sexual abuse, their caregivers, and their families free of charge.
