New Book for “Woke” African Americans Hip Hop Artist Pens New Book, “Afrospirituality”

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Black PR Wire “Afrospirituality” is an African-centered and culturally enriched faith designed to address the problems in the Black community, and to empower Black people in America and worldwide. “Most races of people have beliefs that are based on tradition and culture, which is the centerpiece that unites and mobilizes the masses of their people,” stated Sean XLG Mitchell. “I used this formula to create the faith.” “Afrospirituality” is deeply rooted in ancestral principles and practices with a modern-day perspective on mindfulness that speaks to the advancement of faith in a contemporary world.

The author, well-known in the hip-hop arena, says that he has been actively involved in working in the Black community for 30 years. In addition, he’s a former deacon and ordained minister who has studied African history from scholars such as Dr. John Henrik Clarke, Ivan Van Sertima, and a host of others. The work reflects a compilation of his experience and dedication.

“I think it’s important for us to do as much as we can to contribute toward improving our lives and conditions,” says Mitchell. “It’s not going to happen overnight, but it won’t happen at all if we don’t do anything to make the necessary changes to better ourselves.” The practice centers on the development of culture, a significant factor in the unity of most races of people. Sean adds, “Slavery interrupted our cultural continuity, which created a divide among our people. We must work together to recapture and reclaim it if we’re going to advance from where we are.”

“Afrospirituality” is a daily practice designed to uplift and empower the members of the Black community. The book incorporates African history and achievements from ancient to modern times; to include traditional ethics and guidelines. The practice shows a correlation between culture and power in all areas of life, from education to economic growth, with a focus on self-development.
