6th Annual Legacy Portrait and Community Service Awards

Reading Time: < 1 minute

How many people do you know personally that have actually left a “Legacy?” What exactly makes someone a legend? These are some of the many questions that I often think of when I discuss the Sonny Driver Legacy or the fact that many people who live and work for the betterment of our community are rarely recognized or given the title of Legend while they are still here to receive such a powerful acknowledgment of their contributions.

The 6th Annual Legacy Portrait and Community Service Awards were held on Sunday, October 3, at the Victorian Ballroom. This annual event is held to acknowledge Philadelphia’s history makers and unsung heroes. Everyone has a story, and it is amazing to hear that even to this day we have many unsung heroes; people whose work has had a global impact. And these people are right here living, breathing, and walking down streets each day right beside us. Some of these movers and shakers are in the forefront and are recognizable by sight and by name, but many are not. There are many individuals in the background literally doing the work with dedication and grace.
