PHILADELPHIA, August 14, 2023—The School District of Philadelphia’s 2023 New Hire Orientation returned to in-person for the first time since the pandemic during the week of August 14-18, 2023, at School of the Future. Approximately 700 new teachers and counselors participated in this week long orientation program, aimed at preparing and supporting new hires as they start the academic year.
The School District of Philadelphia’s Orientation Program helps ensure that new teacher and counselor hires are thoroughly prepared for the first day of school on Tuesday, September 5.
New teachers and counselors receive timely & relevant information related to professional responsibilities, classroom management, and instruction. It also provides the District with a unique opportunity to build a solid foundation and establish a strong work culture within its newest cohort of teachers and counselors.
