1st Annual Veterans Day Wreath laying honors colored troops

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Join the ACES Veterans Museum as they recognize our US Colored Troops and Buffalo Soldiers buried at the Philadelphia National Cemetery and all veterans on Veterans Day, November 11th, from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM. Passed on a daily basis by Philadelphians, little is known about the Philadelphia National Cemetery at the corner at Haines Street and Limekiln Pike in Germantown. However, in fact, buried there are over one thousand of the US Colored Troops (USCT) that trained at Camp William Penn and served during the Civil War, as well as, Buffalo Soldiers, medal of honor recipients, and more. This 1st Annual Wreath Laying will be a short solemn program of all veteran participants who represent the past, present, and future veterans – an honor to serve and continue to serve.
